Stunning Indian Wedding Venue in Long Island

Oheka Castle set the stage as the perfect Indian wedding venue in Long Island for Gagan and Gaurav.

Oheka Castle is a gold coast mansion sitting on the highest point of Long Island. The architecture is similar to a French chateau with English styled gardens.

This Indian wedding venue in Long Island had it all for their weekend celebrations. It offered a variety of luxury event spaces, onsite accommodations for family and friends, plenty of stunning locations for photos as well as a great location for vendors and close proximity to nearby JFK and LaGuardia airports for traveling guests. This wedding venue really had it all for this wedding.

Oheka Castle consists of an immaculate library, two ballrooms, a formal dining room, as well as a bar and restaurant. On the exterior there is a large green lawn, terrace and spectacular formal garden. There is no shortage of locations for wedding festivities making this ideal for an Indian wedding venue.

Gagan and Gaurav did a buyout of the entire property for the weekend, including the guest rooms so close family and friends could stay onsite. There are 32 stunning guest rooms and suites that are both convenient and stylish to enjoy for a weekend. There are also a handful of hotels minutes away for guests as well.

Gagan had her hair and makeup done in The Olmstead Suite. This was her suite for the weekend. This multi-room suite had multiple bathrooms and living areas. It had plenty of character, style and natural light for those getting ready photos. It was a perfect set up.

Gagan and Gaurav had photos taken on the upper lawn and in formal garden on the property. From ivy covered walls, stone staircases and statues, garden fountains, and pathways lined with trees — each corner of the property offered something unique and incredibly beautiful.

Not only are the grounds beautiful but the castle itself is a marvelous work of art.

The Sangeet

The Sangeet took place in the Terrace Ballroom at Oheka Castle. The Sangeet is always bright and fun so we brought in pink draping and created lounges in the back with henna, a bar and specialty drinks in tea cups.

There were bright and colorful floral arrangements, candles, menus and table numbers to keep the festive vibe for the night.

There was plenty of space for everyone and it had an existing dance floor which was perfect for that evening’s dances and celebrations.

Gagan and Gaurav shared some sweet moments together in the library before the first night came to an end.

Gagan and Gaurav’s hindu ceremony took place at a nearby temple called Gurdwara Mata Sahib Kaur about 30 minutes away. Oheka Castle has hosted traditional hindu ceremonies on site however this couple opted for a more traditional ceremonial venue.

The Baraat

There was plenty of space for the baraat as well as beautiful trees and landscaping for a beautiful background. The temple had plenty of room for guests inside as well as for a lunch afterwards.

The Hindu Ceremony

The temple had great bones as it but we added some fresh floral arrangements at the entrance and along the aisle to personalize the space a bit.

Later on in the day, the couple changed outfits and took advantage of the stunning interior at Oheka Castle. They took beautiful portraits in the Olmstead Suite, the library, and on the grand staircase before the evening festivities began.

Cocktail Hour

The plan was to have cocktail hour in the gorgeous outdoor garden, but it was raining so we had to bring it inside into the original Dining Room. The Dining Room had incredible architecture, and unique features like marble statues and vintage wallpaper. It was a beautiful weather back up plan.

Since this couple did a buyout for their Indian wedding they had access to all three of the event spaces, tables and chairs, and the bar. Catering is normally provided through the venue as well, but they chose to go with an outside caterer.

This couple had a guest list that was under 150 so we were able to fit everyone into this room. However, if the guest list was larger we could have used the Terrace Ballroom.

The Reception

The reception took place in the Grand Ballroom. The bride wanted to create a "secret garden" in this ballroom inside the castle. This ballroom, although grand, is still small enough to not feel lost in the space.

The bride and groom didn't want a basic ballroom wedding, they wanted something with character and something that could also feel a bit more intimate so the ballrooms at Oheka Castle were perfect.

We used very natural and organic greenery with a wild and loose design on the fireplace and throughout the corners and walls of the ballroom. The floral centerpieces had a similar look with fresh blooms that were soft and colorful hues of cream, pink, peach, burgundy and mauve.

Having an Indian wedding at this venue can be as traditional or non-traditional as you would like. There are so many ways to transform and customize each space. Oheka Castle really did provide Gagan and Gaurav with everything they wanted for their Indian wedding.

Gagan & Gaurav's Indian wedding weekend could not have been better! A huge thank you to all of the vendors involved to help make this wedding a huge success!
